Italy. Traffic restrictions in 2021

Italy imposes traffic restrictions on Sundays and some other special days for goods vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of over 7.5 tons.

In connection with the pandemic, the restrictions were previously temporarily suspended for vehicles carrying out international transport of goods.

Currently, in Italy, international transport is subject to the same traffic restrictions as other road transport of goods.

On the website of the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility, you can read a ministerial decree setting traffic restrictions for 2021 and the conditions for their application.

Appendix A to this decree contains a calendar of traffic restrictions.

It should be noted that for vehicles carrying dangerous goods of the 1st class and 7th class, the traffic restrictions apply regardless of the vehicle weight on the calendar days specified in "Appendix A", and in the period from May 22 to September 5, 2021 year - additionally on weekends from 08.00 Saturday to 24.00 Sunday.
